The art you choose reflects your identity, values, memories, and tastes.

Beach scene acrylic on canvas

I don’t believe art should be restrained, and as such I explore many aspects.

My inspiration sometimes comes from the unknown. That which is unseen and, beyond the realm of human understanding. I’ve always wondered what lies beneath, and on the far side of our perceptual experience. For me, painting is a stilling of the mind. A meditation that can transcend normal thought. No matter the subject, I aim to find the still point.

Your creative person.

My personal creations have ranged from building a house, a few sheds, a motorcycle or two, writing books, screenplays, and international articles, sculpting, inventing, building guitars plus other instruments, and now art.

The intent with this work is to spark inspiration and creativity in the viewer. To help kindle a sense of going beyond boundaries, allowing the expansion of possibilities.

For your convenience clicking on a picture will take you to my Etsy store where you can order a canvas print just about any size you like.  Although some of the pictures here include a frame, you get to choose what you prefer. Framed or unframed?

Forest path in autumn

Into the Abstract

The painting above on the left is called Deep Autumn Path.

Even as the sun dips below the horizon, a resting up for the winter, there's always the light at the end of a path.

Hole of the Planet. Not Too Deep. Also up there.

As ever, the viewer gets to decide. Is this a hole or a planet? It all depends on your world-view.

As the Irish Green haze fades out into the cosmos, deep blue takes on a supporting role. Do holes need support?

"Sacrifice"

This is a limited series titled "Sacrifice.

The “Sacrifice” series of works utilises many layers. The sacrifice occurs when masking overlays paint that, in itself, is quite pleasing. Each “Sacrifice” peace relates to some worldly aspect that may need to be abandoned or protected.

Three of my favourites.

First Wolf

A semi-abstract rendition of a spirit guide.

The wolf is a universal totem and protector. Wolf has been connected to mankind for millennium, and can be contacted in a Shamanic Journey.

A Mandalorian.

Having been separated from his meagre crew, this Mandalorian spent a decade lost on an uncharted desert planet. Once finally rescued, he set out to find those who had abandoned him.

Trash Metal

The original oil painting pops out from an acrylic background. Look and find the hidden guitar shape in the clouds. When the promise of music meets tattoo gun potential, time removes all barriers but discards the inoperative. The scrap heap claims its rewards.

The Best Beach in the World.

The best beach is always the one you are standing on. As humans we have the ability to change how we feel about anything. It's possible to stand on the mudflats at Avonmouth and feel like- you are in the Caribbean, soaking up the atmosphere. All it takes is imagination and a willingness to explore your own mind,

Broken Dreams.

This image sat in my retina as I awoke one morning. It stayed long enough for me to remember it more than the dream I had just finished. A band of darkened translucent turquoise meanders like a path through a golden backdrop.

From left to right.
Abstraction of a Birch Forest.

I enjoy creating an abstract background and laying on a realist focal point. A recent trip to Finland inspired me. The air is so clean, even in cities, all thanks to the trees. A sense of height takes your eye into the canopy as spring begins its dance of colour in the young leaves. Blue shades accompany greens on this waltz of the arboretum.

Lone Lighthouse

Stand up against the natural flow of life. When the absolute ferocity of nature assails, be like the everlasting lighthouse.

Meeting Waves.

When opposing forces encounter each other, they can be lifted together or destroy each other.
